Project Description

Code of Practice for Pastoral Care of International Students

Kiwi Institute of Training and Education (KITE) has agreed to observe and be bound by the Code of Practice for the Pastoral Care of International Students published by the Minister of Education and administered by NZQA. Copies of the Code are available on request from this institution or from the NZQA Website. A summary of the code is available in the appendices of the handbook and will be displayed in notice boards and classrooms of KITE.

Student Services

Aside from high quality education, at KITE, we also give utmost care to our students from the time they arrive in New Zealand up to helping them reach their chosen career. We have a team dedicated to making the students’ experience in and out of the campus enjoyable and worthwhile.

KITE student services have been developed to assist you from the time you arrive in Auckland to the time you leave KITE as a graduate. We constantly work to improve existing services and introduce new services to enhance the learning experience at KITE.

Airport Pickup: KITE offers airport pick up services to students at nominal fees. Students will need to request this service in the student application form. We will meet you, greet you and help you settle in your accommodation if required.

Orientation: All students will be provided with an orientation program before the course commenced. KITE orientation programme is designed to introduce the students to the institute and clarify their queries in regard to all aspects of the institute. It will help you gain understanding about Auckland and various issues you will be faced with as an international student.

Accommodation:Various types of accommodation are available in Auckland. KITE provides accommodation assistance for all its students. However, students are required to contact KITE for four weeks before arrival if they require us to assist them finding accommodation. We will conduct a detailed inspection of the facility available and provide you a detailed report on the amenities available. KITE does not assess the suitability of the accommodation but provide you with detailed information about the accommodation; students can choose the accommodation on their own choice from the various options available.

Student Council

KITE’s student council has been established for students to provide feedback to the Institute regarding students’ concerns. They are dedicated in bridging the gap between the students and faculty, as well as to improve the student’s experience at KITE. Students are free to approach them if there is anything they would like to be addressed regarding their welfare. KITE’s Student Council has representatives from Level 6 & 7 intakes which are composed of both new and existing students. For the updated list of our current student council members, please go to the KITE Facebook page.

External Support

At KITE we want to hear from you whatever the problem is, our staff is ready and willing to help. If we cannot directly provide the solution, we will refer you to those who can best solve your issue. These external support agencies are listed in our Student Handbook. Further information and details are gladly provided.
